Day 1: Nairobi to Maasai Mara.
Your safari begins early in the morning when your professional safari driver-guide from Nyumbu Beyond Journeys picks you up from your hotel, or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi. After your guide gives you a brief overview of the trip, you will depart on a lovely scenic drive to the Maasai Mara National Reserve, one of Africa’s most well-known wildlife reserves. The journey will take around 5-6 hours, and as you drive, you will travel through the Great Rift Valley, with opportunities to stop at tall viewpoints to take wonderful photos of the escarpment.
You will arrive into the Mara just in time for lunch at Soroi Mara Bush Camp, a luxury camp best located on the banks of the Olare Orok.
Once you have checked in and settled in, you will go on your first evening game drive. It’s a good time to see elephants, giraffes, zebras, and possibly big cats such as lions or leopards as they prepare for their evening hunt. You will return to the camp while the sun is setting and be warmly greeted with drinks, a delicious dinner, and a restful night while you listen to the world of nature all around you.

Day 2: Maasai Mara Safaris, A Full Day of Adventure.
After a good breakfast, you will go out for a morning game drive when wildlife is most active. The Maasai Mara is known for a high number of wildlife, especially the Big Five – lions, elephants, leopards, rhinos, and buffalo. Your guide will take you to the best locations to witness a variety of wildlife activity, from grazing herds to predators stalking their prey.
In the afternoon, you will have an opportunity to relax at your camp or visit a Maasai village to educate yourself about the traditional way of life and customs of the Maasai people. You will interact with the people, view their beautiful beadwork, and participate in traditional dances that embrace the Maasai culture. You will return to the camp in the evening for dinner.
Day 3: Full Day in Maasai Mara.
Today is a day dedicated to discovery in the Maasai Mara. After an early breakfast, you set off with your picnic lunch for a full-day game drive through the reserve for a more adventurous exploration into the plains, where wildlife will be abundant in the vistas that will take your breath away. In the season, these wonderful plains offer the best viewing for the Great Wildebeest Migration crossing the Mara River to greener pastures – one of nature’s most incredible phenomena when millions of wildebeests and zebras cross together.
You will find your spot under a shady acacia tree for your leisurely picnic lunch while taking in the vast plains lighted by grazing grazers. The game drive continues into the afternoon before you return to camp. Finish your day with an evening sundown at the riverbanks, followed by a gourmet dinner with overnight accommodations at camp.
Day 4: Maasai Mara to Nairobi.
On the last day of the safari, wake early in the morning meet with your safari guide and then take an early morning game drive to see the last of the Mara’s wildlife as the sun rises over the savanna before returning to the lodge for breakfast.

After breakfast at the camp, check out and travel back to Nairobi, arriving in the afternoon where you will be dropped off at your hotel or the airport for your onward travel with an en-route lunch. This brings your unforgettable Soroi Barefoot Luxury Safari in Maasai Mara to an end.
