Our 14 Days Kenya Tanzania & Uganda Gorilla safari offers you a chance to trek mountain Gorillas, Wildlife Viewing on the great migration in the great Mara & Serengeti plains, starts with game drives from Masai Mara National, Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti unlimited safari drives.
On this two-weeks itinerary includes some of the best wildlife encounters and safari experiences that East Africa has to offer. These gorilla treks and wildlife combinations cover one of the most popular tourist destinations in Africa. Kenya and Tanzania are the best places seeing the wildebeest mega-herds move into the Masai Mara and Amboseli’s legendary elephant herds against the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro to the majestic Masai Mara National Park, the three countries will not disappoint if you combine it with a primates’ trekking experience and Bwindi in Uganda for gorilla trekking.
Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Arrival to Kenya
Arrival to Kenya through Nairobi international airport, be met by our Nyumbu Beyond Journeys safari guide who will warmly welcome you, brief you on the 14 Days Kenya-Tanzania &Uganda Safari itinerary then transfer you to your lodge for accommodation in Nairobi.
Day 2: Nairobi – Masai Mara
In the morning at 0830 hrs pick up from your hotel in Nairobi and drive through the Great Rift Valley to Maasai Mara National reserve with lunch and game viewing en-route. Check in at your lodge then proceed with afternoon game drives in the reserve. You will have dinner and overnight in the lodge .
Day 3: Full day in Masai Mara
After our early breakfast, full day game drives on the reserve, from 0830hrs to 1730hrs lunch picnic or back to the lodge for hot lunch and continue with afternoon game viewing.
The search for great predators and perhaps even cubs continues today during extensive game runs. On the plains are enormous herds of grazing animals plus the elusive cheetah and leopard hiding amidst acacia boughs. During our stay we also have an optional opportunity to visit a village of the Masai people to witness the singing and dancing that are part of their daily lives and sacred rituals. A glimpse into their homes and social structure is a poignant experience.
Depending on the wildlife migration patterns and the weather, you will have a full day in Maasai Mara where you can opt for a morning and evening game drive or venture out for a full day. But if you are craving a wild Adrenalin rush, then ultimately an early morning balloon safari (extra $430 per person) over the Mara plains is all you need. You will have dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Maasai Mara – Lake Naivasha National Park
After breakfast, drive from Mara to Lake Nakuru National Park arriving in time for lunch at Nakuru Woodlands Hotel. After lunch you will proceed to the game drive till evening before coming back to your hotel for dinner and overnight .
Lake Naivasha houses Kenya’s first rhino sanctuary and one of the largest concentrations of black rhinoceros in the world a large population of white rhino. The park features the picturesque Malaika Waterfalls. Also, of interest is an area of 188 km around the lake fenced off as a sanctuary to protect Rothschild giraffes. Among predators are lion, leopard and large pythons hiding in the dense woodlands which may occasionally be seen crossing roads or dangling from trees. Others game include Thomson’s and Grant gazelle, the long- eared leaf-nosed bat, colobus monkey, rock hyrax, hippo, and waterbuck; Impala, striped hyena, bat-eared fox, wildcat, reedbuck and golden cat.
Day 5: Lake Naivasha – Nairobi – Tanzania
After breakfast, drive back to Nairobi for lunch. At 1430hrs after lunch travel on via Namanga border into Arusha Tanzania where you will arrive at around 1800hrs. You will have dinner and overnight in Arusha.
Day 6: Arusha – Tarangire National Park
Pick up at 8:30 AM from your hotel in Arusha and depart for Tarangire National Park with a picnic lunch for a full day game drive. Tanzania’s third largest National park is known for its majestic baobab trees that dot the landscape, dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. The Tarangire River is the centerpiece of this park which is famous for some of the largest herds of elephants in Africa. Here you may see lion, leopard, cheetah, lesser kudu, buffalo, Oryx, eland, giraffe and zebra. Post the game drive, you will head back to your camp/lodge where a delicious dinner awaits you.
Day 7: Tarangire National Park – Serengeti N.P
After finishing up a good breakfast, you will head out towards the Serengeti National Park and travel in the midst of the never-ending plain grasslands. The Serengeti is arguably the most impressive wildlife sanctuary in the world. You will have an afternoon game drive in the endless plains of the Serengeti for a chance to see the great herds of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles or a pride of lions lounging in the shade. A picnic lunch will be done during the day long game drive itself. The eventful day comes to an end with a heavy dinner and a good night’s rest in your accommodation.
Day 8: Full day in Serengeti N.P
You can either have a relaxed breakfast and depart for full day game drives around 9:00 AM with packed lunch and return back to lodge late afternoon around 6:00 PM. Or you can depart at 6:00 AM on an early morning game drive. Later return to accommodation for breakfast and relax for a bit and depart on an afternoon game drive with packed lunch. You will explore the central portion of the Serengeti National Park today. The legendary Serengeti National Park is the most renowned safari destination for its incredible population of lions and leopards. The central portion of the Serengeti – known as Seronera area is one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park.
It features the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species. During the off season of the migration, one must really look out for the many lion pride that thrive in this region. The interactions and survival of these lion pride provide an excellent game viewing experience all year round. Along with a picnic lunch during the full day game drive, the day will end by around 5PM. The long day comes to an end with a heavy dinner and a good night’s rest in your accommodation.

Day 9: Serengeti – Ngorongoro
After breakfast, you will have a morning game drive in Serengeti National Park. Later depart for Ngorongoro Conservation Area with picnic lunch. Ngorongoro Crater is the largest collapsed volcanic crater in the world and fourteen kilometers of isolated natural beauty. Ngorongoro Crater is surrounded by a ring of extinct volcanoes and the floor, dotted with watering holes, shelters some 30,000 animals. The eventful day comes to an end with a heavy dinner and a good night’s rest in your accommodation. Dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha
After breakfast drive back to Arusha Town -arrive for lunch then you’ll be transferred to your hotel. Afternoon at leisure in Arusha town doing some shopping. Dinner and overnight.
Day 11: Kilimanjaro airport – Fly to Uganda
Early breakfast and depart for Kilimanjaro International airport via the Town of Arusha to Uganda Entebbe. Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport we will pick you up from Entebbe International airport and transfer you to Bwindi National park arriving in the evening. En route you, will have a stopover at the Equator for photographs and also stand a chance to see the area which separates both the Southern and Northern Hemispheres. Have another stopover in Mbarara town for lunch after which you will continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park which is one of the world’s Heritage sites and famously known for the gorilla trekking activity.
Day 13: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi – lake Bunyonyi
After early morning breakfast, we head to the park headquarters of Bwindi impenetrable for an orientation as well as separation into small groups of 8 people based on the gorilla family you will be tracking.
Trek into the ancient tropical rainforest on the adjacent conical isolating hills of the Virunga massive known for home of the mountain gorillas, as we trek will be led by a group of experienced trackers that will bring you amongst a family of mountain gorillas.
Once we have found our gorilla family we are allocated 1 hour to spend with these massive primates, observing the baby with the mothers as them partake their daily routine in our presence is all very overwhelming.
After our gorilla trek, we close to nature as explore lake Bunyonyi home for 29 islands as we clip into our gorilla photos we catch the sunset over the beautiful terraced hills of Kigezi hills with a glass of wine.
Day 14: Kigali-Back home
After morning cup of tea, you will be taken to Kigali international Airport to fly back home and this mark.
