Day 4: Visit the Gishora drum entertainers

Depending on the time of the entertainment, our Burundi safari guide will advise on the departure time to enjoy one of Africa’s finest drum entertainments. In Burundi, the drums were the pillar of the political power of the monarchy. They were made and beaten on special occasions by specialized families called ‘Abatimbo’ in important places, announcing great events of the country like the royal enthronement, the sowing festival, and the funerals of the kings, and they gave the rhythm of regular seasons.

Day 5: City tour and Depart Burundi for your onward journey

After morning breakfast, you will head to the city for a Burundi city tour of Bujumbura. The city was established as a German military station early in the 20th century or you can see the meeting place between Burton Speke and Livingston, the Bauhaus style of architecture (German style of arts), the monuments to heroes of independence and democracy or simply the daily life of the people, the vibes at the beaches of lakes Tanganyika or the Bujumbura nightlife.
