Our 3 Days fly-in safari, is a fabulous safari – specially designed for those who are short of time, but want to see the rare and endangered Mountain Gorillas and meet the Batwa tribe. This journey includes flights over the beautiful highlands of Uganda boasting incredible scenery. There is a drive from the airstrip via local villages to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, from where you will be able enjoy a thrilling visit.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe & Fly into Kihihi Airstrip
Arrive at Entebbe International Airport for your scheduled domestic flight to Kihihi Airstrip. The flying time is just over an hour (depending on routing and aircraft used). Upon arrival you will be met by your
Nyumbu Beyond Journeys safari guide and driven to your Lodge, located inside the national park boundaries at the edge of Bwindi
Impenetrable Forest. The drive takes approximately two hours and leads you through local villages and mountain roads – lovely scenery and very interesting en route! Optional activities available, time permitting.
Day 2: Ultimate Mountain Gorilla trekking & Batwa Cultural Experience
Following an early breakfast at the lodge, drive to the Park Headquarters in Bwindi Forest to meet your guides for the day and begin your gorilla tracking experience. Experienced guides and trackers will accompany your party on an early morning trek into the dense rain forest on the mountain slopes.
Few words can describe the thrill of today’s lifetime experience! Coming face to face with mountain gorillas is a rare wildlife encounter that is exhilarating, humbling and enthralling. Experienced guides and trackers will accompany your party on an early morning trek into the dense rain forest on the steep mountain slopes.
Please note that gorilla tracking is strenuous with treks ranging from 45 mins up to eight hours, at high altitudes in hot African conditions. The thrill of the hour you spend quietly observing these gentle giants once you find them is so worth the trek to get there! Although mountain gorillas are wild animals and sightings cannot be guaranteed, viewing success rates are over 95%.
If time allows, we recommend to explore the local community on a guided afternoon walk. Optional activities include visits to a traditional home, local orphanage or school, banana brewing demonstrations and even meeting traditional medicinal healers. This three-to-four-hour walk is easily tailored to your individual schedule and interests.
Day 3: Fly Kihihi Airstrip into Entebbe & End of the Safari
After breakfast, depart Bwindi Forest and transfer to Kihihi Airstrip for your scheduled flight to Entebbe Airport.
