7 Days Classic Uganda Safari – Primates & Wildlife Journey
Our remarkable Uganda Safari takes you to 3 of Uganda’s national parks, Lake Mburo where you will do a game drive and boat cruise encountering Zebras, Elands, Giraffes and other wildlife. Then Bwindi impenetrable national park for a breathtaking encounter with the giant Apes-Mountain gorillas and Batwa community. You will later visit Uganda’s famous national park – Queen Elizabeth for the search of tree climbing lions, Topis, elephants, buffaloes, antelopes and a boat cruise on Kazinga Channel.
We will trek chimpanzees in Kyambura Gorge, often referred to as the “Valley of Apes,” is a remarkable geographical feature within Queen Elizabeth National Park. This 100-meter deep gorge, carved by the Kyambura River, stretches for about 16 kilometres and harbours a lush, isolated rainforest teeming with wildlife. The gorge’s most famous inhabitants are its chimpanzees, a small but significant population that has adapted to life in this unique ecosystem. Chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura offers visitors an intimate and challenging experience, as they descend into the gorge to search for these elusive primates.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe, Karibu Uganda!
Our Nyumbu Beyond Journeys safari guide will meet you upon your arrival at the airport, with a warmly welcome you will be transferred to your hotel reserved for your stay. Later you will be taken through the details of your Ugandan Adventure.
Day 2: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park, Evening walking safari
After breakfast, Drive from Kampala with your guide to Lake Mburo national park – Uganda’s smallest savanna park and home the largest number of Zebras in Uganda. Your eyes will be fed with lots of sightings and birds along the way.
You will have a stop at the Equator for the equator experiment and then continue to the park and check in at your lodge. After lunch, you will go for a remarkable walking safari in lake Mburo where you will walk and encounter different animals’ giraffes, zebras, impalas, elands and birds like the Giant and pied Kingfishers, African fish eagle. Later return to the lodge for overnight.
Day 3: Morning game drive and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National park.
On the 3rd Day of your 7 Days Classic Uganda Safari, you will have breakfast and leave for an early game drive. There you will see numerous zebras, Impalas, Giraffes, elands, warthogs and antelopes living in their natural habitats. After breakfast, return to the lodge, check out and head for Bwindi.
You will go through the flat lands of Ntungamo, outstanding scenery in Kigezi region which is a combination of terraced hills, forests, banana plantations among others. Arrive at the park in the evening and check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Mountain Gorilla tracking and Batwa community visit.

After breakfast, carry your packed lunch and you will head to the park head offices with your guide, have a briefing about the dos and don’ts while in the park while tracking the gorillas. You will be led by a ranger guide as you head for gorilla trekking through the forest, trekking can take 2 hours or up to 6 hours and this is based on the location of the gentle giants and 1 hour is allowed to trackers with the gorillas.
Later return to the lodge and relax. In the evening, go for a community walk where you will visit the Batwa, which is an indigenous group of people that has lived in the forest for many years, enjoy traditional dances, performances and displays of their art facts. Head back to the lodge for Dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park via Ishasha sector and Boat cruise on Kazinga Channel.
After breakfast, drive to Queen Elizabeth National park just 62km through stunning savannah grasslands. We shall enter Queen Elizabeth from the southern sector and do a game drive in the Ishasha-sector.
Game views here are high, and this region has reported some of the largest herds of elephants anywhere in Uganda and famous for the tree climbing lions. You’ll then have lunch and continue to the northern sector of the park.
After lunch take you will take a 2-hour return boat cruise on the Kazinga channel. This joins Lakes Edward and George and it is known for its number of hippos, crocs, buffaloes with elephants at the banks. You are likely to meet grazing hippos, elephants, lions, spotted hyenas and leopards, bushbuck, waterbuck. After the launch cruise, take short evening game drive with do a sun downer. Then return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6: Morning Game drive & Chimpanzee trekking
Early in the morning after breakfast, you will go for a game drive in the Kasenyi plains to have an encounter with more of the big game that include predators like lions, Leopards and other wildlife. Over 600 bird species occupy this park, making it a haven for bird watchers.
Chimpanzee trekking experience here is second to none: firstly, the glossy, green and relatively undisturbed valley of Apes-Kyambura Gorge is a trekker’s paradise and you’ll be searching for primates in the company of larger-than-life leadwood and fig trees, and plenty of birdlife. Secondly, with almost a large chimpanzee community leaping around the foliage, the chances of seeing them are excellent. Most treks depart early in the morning when the chimps are at their most active, but afternoon excursions are also possible. Expect to be out for at least 2-3 hours.
Day 7: Return back to Entebbe and Departure.
After breakfast, transfer to Kampala and continue to Entebbe. Lunch will be en-route and this therefore marks the end of your seven days Uganda wildlife and Gorilla safari.
