Our 10-day honeymoon safari and beach holiday, will you time to enjoy the best that Tanzania has to offer. You’ll visit Tarangire National Park well known for its elephant families and iconic baobab trees.
You’ll also visit Ngorongoro Crater and the majestic Serengeti National Park, a breathtakingly beautiful setting and the best place in Tanzania to see the Big Five. After your safari, you will fly to Zanzibar where warm turquoise waters and the white sand beaches upon the Indian Ocean await.
Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Airport Pick up & Arusha City
You will be picked up from the airport by a Nyumbu Beyond Journeys representative and conveyed to your accommodation in Arusha where you will stay overnight, relax, and prepare in anticipation of the adventures to come. You will have time to explore the City of Arusha and other places nearby.
Day 2: Transfer to Tarangire National Park
In the morning, you will be picked up from your lodgings in Arusha by our personal safari guide. You will set out for Tarangire National Park across gently rolling Maasai plains with scattered acacia trees.
As you zip along, you may pass many Maasai in their colourful dresses walking on the roadside, riding bicycles, herding cattle, and driving donkey carts. The park is well known for its large elephant herds and is also host to a multitude of other creatures.

From the open roof of your safari jeep, experience the seasonal swamps, savanna, and life-giving Tarangire River endeavoring to encounter a multitude of creatures from zebras to wildebeests, buffalos, elephants, and giraffes, to name but a few. It is possible you’ll see lions stalking prey or leopards relaxing in the trees above.
After our extensive game drive, you’ll depart to drive to one of our partner lodges for dinner in a tasteful restaurant and a spacious room to harbors your ease and dreams of wild cats!
Day 3: Central Serengeti National Park
After an early breakfast, you’ll depart for the most famous national park in the world. The drive itself, although long, is spectacular.
This will be an unforgettable moment for anyone seeing it for the first time. As you progress well into the Serengeti, you will see why the name means, in the local language, “endless plains.”
The park has 6,900 sq. miles (18,000 sq.km) and for most of it, the plains will stretch to the horizon defying your senses and perception of distances.
It is the home of the Great Migration where 2 million wildebeests, hundreds of thousands of zebras and all kinds of antelopes cross annually. As for big cats and large predators, it’s the place of choice to look out for lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas, with many television scenes like the famous River Crossings having been filmed in this park.
Day 4: Full day Safari exploring the Serengeti Plains
After a relaxed morning, drive towards Central Serengeti and spend the day observing wildlife in the Seronera Valley. The Seronera Valley offers lots of wildlife throughout the year including carnivores like cheetahs, hyenas, leopards and lions. You’ll also see ungulates including buffaloes, giraffes, hippos, impalas, topis, warthogs and zebras. Do you know how to distinguish a Grant gazelle from a Thomson gazelle? Both gazelles have a white rump. The rump of the Thomson gazelle, however, is bordered by a thin black horizontal stripe below the paler brown one. Furthermore, the tail of the Thomson gazelle is entirely black, while the Grant gazelle’s white rump patch extends above the tail. Ask your guide about this and more as you Continue to your accommodation.
Day 5: Central Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Crater
Today, you will head out early on your morning game drive for a chance to witness a magnificent African sunrise in the bush. You will head out after a cup of coffee and experience the wilderness and its magnificent creatures as they wake up among the dew-covered grasses.
Later, you will have your full breakfast at the park without forgetting to enjoy lunch in the middle of the park.
In the afternoon, you will head out once more for another chance to explore the plains in search of African wildlife as you exit the park.
Day 5: Transfer to the Ngorongoro Crater
Rise and shine! It’s an early departure for you today to the lush highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This morning’s destination is the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater, one of the seven wonders of Africa, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Once you reach the crater rim, you will descend the steep track into the 600 m deep caldera to see a range of animals, grasslands, birds, and a lake.
The massive collapsed volcano is home to over 25,000 mammals ranging from the Big Five to spotted hyenas and some of the more than 500 bird species in the area.
After an extensive game drive and a picnic lunch in the crater, you will head to your hotel in Mto Wa Mbu where you will have dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 7: Lake Manyara National Park-Zanzibar Stone Town
After breakfast, you will drive to your final destination on this epic safari Lake Manyara National Park. This is a relatively small but diverse park, 120km west of Arusha. The park’s namesake is a shallow, Salt Lake.
It covers a large area of the park, flooding and drying with the seasons, and is home to thousands of flamingos and over 500 other bird species. On your exploration of the park, you will see monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffalo, elephants, and with some luck, lions lounging in the trees.
The park is known for its diverse landscapes, not only open grassy plains but also primate-filled woodlands and baobab-dotted cliffs. After lunch, you will head back to Arusha, where you will arrive in the late afternoon where you will connect with your flight to Zanzibar.
Day 8: Zanzibar Stone Town and Spice Tour
After breakfast at around 7:30 am, you will be picked up by your guide. You’ll enjoy the ride to the island on a traditional dhow. You will learn how this small island gained its name and explore the place that is home to more than 50 tortoises, some over 100 years old. After discovering the island and its history, you’ll take the opportunity to swim in the clear waters off the coast amongst tropical and colourful fish.

Later, you will proceed with the Spice Tour which takes 3 hours. You will be privileged to learn about tropical fruits, spices and herbs, and a few of the uncommon types of different plants from various vegetation.
On the tour, you can also hopefully see spices such as curry, cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, pepper, tamarind, ginger, menthol, Zanzibar cloves, and numerous different spices and herbs offered by the Sultan of Oman over the Indian Ocean. Later, you will be taken to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 9: White Sand Beaches of Zanzibar Island
Today, you will spend most of your time chilling and taking a good moment to enjoy and relax at Zanzibar beaches. These beaches offer a serene escape with pristine white sands, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and gently swaying palm trees. You can unwind under the sun, swim in warm, inviting seas, and enjoy stunning sunsets. The tranquil ambiance, coupled with the natural beauty of the island, makes it an ideal destination for rest and rejuvenation.
Day 10: Departure back home!
Today will be a sad day for everyone because it will be time to say goodbye to each other. We believe that our team has left a place in your heart with wonderful memories to take home. You will be taken to the airport at your preferred time.
