These are renowned parks in Kenya, celebrated for their wildlife, captivating bird species, and breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Amboseli National Park is one of the most visited parks on Kenyan safaris, and it is renowned for its large herds of elephants. On the other hand, Masai Mara National Reserve is world famous for its wildlife abundance.
Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Arrive Nairobi, Pick Up transfer to the hotel
Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport where our Nyumbu Beyond Journeys representative will meet you on arrival and transfer you to your city hotel in Nairobi. Nairobi is the capital city of Kenya.
Day 2: Transfer to Tsavo West National park
After breakfast at the hotel depart and drive to Tsavo West National Park. Upon entry into the park, enjoy a game viewing drive en route to the Lodge to arrive in the early afternoon for check-in followed by lunch.
One of the first lodges ever to be built in a national park, the lodge is cool, tranquil, and hushed for optimum game-viewing, photography, and painting. It is also ideally placed for visits to all the park’s prime attractions.
Afternoon game viewing drives in the park. Tsavo West National Park offers some of the most magnificent game viewing in the world with large herds of dusty-red elephants, hippopotamuses, giant crocodiles, black rhinoceros, and African buffalos.
Day 3: Exploring Tsavo West National park
This day you have a full day in Tsavo with morning and afternoon game-viewing drives. The Park offers some of the most magnificent game viewing in the world with large herds of dusty-red elephants, hippopotamus, giant crocodiles, black rhinoceros, and African buffalos. The park also has lions, cheetahs, and leopards.

The “big five” can be seen in Tsavo. Other animals commonly seen in the park are the zebra, the antelopes and gazelles, the mongoose, the hyrax, the dik-dik, and the lesser kudu. Birdlife is abundant as more than 600 species of bird have been recorded.
Some of the interesting areas to be visited are the Mzima springs, Roaring rocks, Chaimu, and Shetani Lava sites to mention a few.
Day 4: Transfer game drive to Amboseli National Park
After breakfast drive to Amboseli National Park to arrive in the early afternoon for check-in at the Lodge.
Located at the magnificent backdrop of Africa’s highest mountain, the glittering Mount Kilimanjaro, the Lodge enjoys a uniquely privileged position at the heart of this world-famous national park. Shaded by palm trees, there is a free-form swimming pool.
Lunch at the lodge followed by an afternoon at leisure to relax and soak in magnificent views of the park from your room Veranda/Lounge or enjoy a swim in the lodge’s heated swimming pool.
Enjoy afternoon game-viewing drives in the park.
Amboseli is one of the most popular destinations for safari-goers to Kenya, but it also offers some spectacular views of the highest free-standing mountain in the world – Mount Kilimanjaro. Elephants are a dominant presence in Amboseli; they are tracked almost constantly by researchers thus, the reason they have largely escaped the ravages of 1980s poaching.
Day 5: Full day guided safari game drives in Amboseli National Park
On this day, enjoy scheduled game-viewing drives in Amboseli. With its reputation for active elephant sightings, it’s easy to spot them roaming the plains in the morning and evening. You can observe them splashing and foraging in Ol Okenya Swamp for much of the day. We will also stop at Observation Hill for the sprawling, breathtaking view of Amboseli.
Day 6: Fly to Masai Mara
After breakfast at the lodge, depart and drive to Amboseli Airstrip for your scheduled flight to Wilson Airport Nairobi. On arrival, you will be assisted by our representative to connect your Masai Mara-bound scheduled flight.
On arrival at Mara Serena Airstrip, you will be met by your lodge Driver Guide and transferred to the lodge for check-in. Enjoy game viewing en route to the lodge.
Enjoy one of the most spectacular views imaginable across the vast plains, forests, and rivers that make up the Masai Mara – one of the world’s richest wildlife sanctuaries. The lodge has recently undergone a refurbishment and new facilities in operation include a new reception, bar lounge, an arrival lobby area, and a gift shop. Later enjoy an afternoon game drive.
Day 7: Experience the Masai Mara National reserve
Full day in the Mara with morning and afternoon game drives in the Reserve at 06:30hrs and 16:00hrs respectively. Certainly, the most frequented game reserve in Kenya, Maasai Mara is a magnificent landscape of open plains bisected by the Mara River and its tributaries and punctuated by marshes and forests.
This 650 sq. kilometer reserve supports the highest density of game to be seen anywhere considering its size. During the seasonal migrations, Maasai Mara is home to up to a million wildebeest and an equally impressive number of zebras that move into the area from neighboring Serengeti National Park, in Tanzania.

Another full day in the Mara with morning and afternoon game drives in the Reserve at 06:30hrs and 16:00hrs respectively. Day 8: Fly to Nairobi
