Day 1: Karibu! Welcome to Kenya
NAIROBI
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Kenya, you shall be picked up by a representative of Nyumbu Beyond Journeys and transferred to your accommodations. Relax and settle in at your hotel.
Day 2-3: The Untamed Wilderness | MERU NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, your Kenya safari guide will meet you and transfer you to Wilson Airport for your light aircraft flight to Meru National Park.
Nestled amidst rugged hills and rocky outcrops, the camp blends harmoniously with the natural landscape, creating a unique and secluded Kenya safari retreat. Expertly guided open 4×4 game drives provide extraordinary wildlife encounters, and guests can learn about the park’s wilderness with nature walks and nocturnal adventures on night game drives.
Day 4-5: Exploring Lewa | LEWA CONSERVANCY
Enjoy breakfast at the lodge before transferring to the airstrip for your light aircraft flight to Lewa Wildlife Conservancy.
As a designated World Heritage Site, Lewa Reserve boasts thriving populations of critically endangered black and white rhinos, sustained through collaboration with local communities. Enjoy exhilarating Kenya safari game drives for sightings of the Big 5, cheetahs, and the endangered Grevy’s zebra against the backdrop of snow-capped Mount Kenya. Explore Lewa further with a wilderness walk, or try horse riding or camel trekking for added adventure.
Day 6-8: A Kenyan Icon | MASAI MARA
Enjoy breakfast at the lodge followed by a scheduled flight from Lewa to Masai Mara. Upon arrival, relax at the lodge and enjoy lunch before setting out on an afternoon game drive in the reserve. To truly explore the hidden gems of this region, stay in one of the conservancies along Masai Mara for an off-the-beaten-path experience with all the same access to the main reserve.
Masai Mara is widely considered one of the most important wildlife conservation areas in Africa, offering an abundance of wildlife across its rugged landscape. Masai giraffe, elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah, hippos, wildebeest, and Thompson’s gazelle are just a few of the animals that visitors can hope to see while on game drives in the reserve.
An optional hot air balloon safari is an ideal way to experience the reserve, setting aloft just before sunrise for wildlife viewing, followed by a champagne bush breakfast in the wilderness.
Day 9: Nairobi | NAIROBI
In the morning, transfer via scheduled flight to Nairobi’s Wilson Airport, where you will be met and transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight.
