A taste of what to expect…
Day 1: Entebbe
On your arrival at Entebbe Airport, you will be met by your Nyumbu Beyond Journeys safari guide, who will drive you to your accommodation. Boasting a tranquil, friendly atmosphere, Uganda’s steady economic growth is visible on the modern streets of Entebbe, the country’s eclectic capital, with its melting-pot of restaurants, entertainment venues and upmarket hotels. Located on the wetlands that once made up the favourite hunting grounds of King Mutesa I, the city is famed for its seven beautiful hills. It is also home to the palace of the King of the 13th century kingdom of Buganda, as well as magnificent tombs, mosques and cathedrals.

Day 2-3: Kidepo Valley National Park
You will be collected by car for your scheduled mid-day flight to the Kidepo airstrip, in the Kidepo Valley National Park. Upon landing, you will be collected by an Apoka Safari lodge vehicle to transfer you, by car to your lodge. The rugged isolated wilderness of the Kidepo Valley National Park ranks it as one of Africa’s most prized and less-explored destinations.
Organize an excursion to local Ik and Karamojong people of Kidepo, two of Africa’s most isolated tribes
Go on game drives where you will be treated to exceptional wildlife sightings including greater and lesser kudu, eland and cheetah, as well as some of the world’s biggest herds of buffalo are seen here
Go birding – Kidepo is a birdwatcher’s paradise – specifically for those interested in Africa’s birds of prey
Day 4-5: Murchison Falls National Park
Take a flight to the Murchison Falls National Park. Here, you will be met by a representative from Nyumbu Beyond Journeys and driven to Hemingways Camp. Uganda’s Murchison Falls National Park is where the mighty Nile River bisects flourishing savannahs, flanked by lush riverine woodlands, before bursting through a chasm in the Rift Valley escarpment to form the raging Murchison Falls. exceptional water birds.
Enjoy an afternoon boat ride along the Nile to the bottom of the falls. Wildlife enthusiasts can expect to see great pods of hippo and immense rafts of crocodile in-and-around the Nile as well as an array of water birds
Take a challenging hike to the top of the cascading falls, or go fishing for the great Nile perch
Day 6-7: Kibale National Park
Take a scheduled flight to the Kasese Airstrip, where you will disembark for a memorable hike in the foothills of Mountain Rwenzori. Drive to Kyaninga Lodge, set against a stunning backdrop of Lake Kyaninga and the legendary Mountains of the Moon beyond.

Take an afternoon game drive or alternatively, enjoy the afternoon at your leisure and after a superb dinner head out on an exciting spot-lit night drive
Embark on an exciting adventure as you get to go trekking with chimpanzee in Kibale National Park, housing the greatest variety and concentration of primates found anywhere in East Africa including 12 species of primates such as the rare red colobus monkey, grey-cheeked mangabey, olive baboon and red-tailed monkey.
Or choose to spend half a day (instead of just an hour) with a team of people habituating chimps
Day 8-9: Semliki Valley Wildlife Reserve
Travel by car to Semliki Valley Wildlife Reserve for your night at Semliki Safari Lodge. Uganda’s first protected wilderness area, the diverse Semliki Valley Wildlife Reserve, is home to both the forest species of Central Africa and the savannah wildlife of East Africa.
Enjoy a spot-lit night drive through the reserve
Take a tranquil boat cruise on Lake Albert with the opportunity to see birdlife, including the rare Shoebill stork
Day 10-11: Queen Elizabeth National Park
Drive to the breath-taking surrounds of the Queen Elizabeth National Park, for a stay at the charming Kyambura Gorge Lodge. This drive offers fantastic views of crater lakes and valleys as well as a heart-warming cultural excursion. Boasting one of the highest biodiversity ratings of any reserve in the world, Queen Elizabeth National Park is home to almost a hundred animal species as well as more than 600 types of birds
Go on a game drive and see a variety of game, including a number of primates, including chimpanzee as well as black and white colobus monkey. The Ishasha area is also notable for the world’s highest concentration of hippos
Enjoy an afternoon boat cruise on the sparkling Kazinga Channel
Day 12: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Ishasha area
Do a game drive transfer for a night at Ishasha Wilderness Camp, be sure to keep an eye out for the park’s famous tree climbing lions, which can sometimes be seen resting in the shady branches of the large fig trees in the area.
Day 13-15: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Take a scenic game drive to the home of Uganda’s majestic mountain gorillas, the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. An ancient rain forest, the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest extends over a series of steep ridges in the Virunga Volcanoes mountain range.
Hike through the rainforest accompanied by a guide and trackers, in search of a mountain gorilla family. The walking can sometimes be tough and long, but when you catch a glimpse of the magnificent silverback, any discomforts will be quickly forgotten
Take the opportunity to go on a cultural walk to the Batwa community- known as the “Keepers of the Forest” the enchanting Batwa pygmies of the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park are a hunter-gatherer tribe that has lived side-by-side with the wildlife of this ancient park for thousands of years. Strap on your hiking boots for this full-day adventure as it kick-starts with a 3-hour hike through the forest to a Batwa settlement.
Day 16: Entebbe

All health vaccinations and medications, including, but not limited to: Yellow Fever vaccinations are currently compulsory for entry into Uganda
The package exclude chimpanzee trekking permits and the permits are subject to availability
Gorilla permits cannot be held/secured/booked with the Uganda Wildlife Authority in advance of payment – they are only secured once physically paid for. We can check availability of permits but we cannot hold them.
Gorilla permits are always 100% non-transferable and non-refundable.
There is a minimum age limit for gorilla tracking of 15 years (no exceptions).
