Detailed itinerary

DAY 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport 

 You will be picked up with our Nyumbu Beyond Journeys safari expert having short brief and then transferred to hotel for dinner and overnight stay. Dinner and overnight will be at the hotel

DAY 2: Hike Materuni waterfalls & local coffee experience 

 Wake up early in the morning after breakfast then depart to Materuni waterfall and enjoy the spectacular view of the highest of waterfall in the Moshi area, spend 30 minutes at the natural pool with views of the stunning Mount Kilimanjaro, please bring swimwear, appropriate footwear towels and outdoor wear. Dinner and Overnight at the hotel

DAY 3: Walking Safari in Arusha National Park 

Wake up early in the morning after breakfast then drive to Arusha National Park for a walk inside the park, you will be escorted by an armed ranger, the walking activity will take approximately 3 to 4 hours, then you will continue with the game driving. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 4: Transfer to Tarangire National Park 

Transfer early in the morning after breakfast to Tarangire National Park with picnic lunch. This park has a lot of migratory movement with greater Tarangire Ecosystem.  The park runs along the Tarangire River and is mainly made up of low-lying hills on the great valley floor. Its natural vegetation mainly consists of Acacia woodland and giant African Baobab trees with huge swamp areas. Dinner and overnight at the hotel/lodge

DAY 5: Guided game drives in Tarangire National Park 

Wake up early in the morning after breakfast you will have a game drive in Tarangire national park with picnic lunch, enjoying the game while searching for animals like lion, giraffe, zebra and many others with birdlife. Dinner and overnight at the hotel/lodge

DAY 6: Mto Wa Mbu Village  Walk

The bustling farming community of Mto Wa Mbu, located between Manyara and Ngorongoro, is home to around 18,000 people. Spend half a day here with a knowledgeable local guide and you’ll discover a side of Tanzania that many visitors miss. A melting pot of cultures, Mto Wa Mbu is thought to be one of the only places in Tanzania where there are representatives from all 120 tribes living happily side by side. Although the name translates as ‘Mosquito River’, due to the permanent water source in the village, we fortunately didn’t see many mosquitoes. During your visit you’ll get a good feel for the social side of the village – the farms and the milling machines, the schools, markets and churches. Your guide will be happy to answer any questions you might have, and will help you to gain an understanding of the inner workings of this typical Tanzanian community. You’ll likely start in the village banana plantation, where they grow more than 30 different varieties of bananas. As well as finding out how this staple fruit is grown, you’ll hear about the different uses of the plant as a whole, from food to materials for building and art. DAY 7:  Transfer to Lake Manyara  National  Park 

Wake up early in the morning after breakfast and then you will depart to Lake Manyara National Park with your packed lunch. This impressive park is one of Tanzania’s most dramatically located wildlife areas, also this park is serene and beautiful with the main attraction of tree climbing lion, its elephant and hippos that you can see at closer range than most other places.  Lake Manyara is an alkaline lake and at certain times of the year hosts thousands of flamingos and a diversity of other bird’s life. Dinner and overnight at the hotel/lodge

DAY 8: Lake  Eyasi

Lake Eyasi is a seasonal shallow endorheic Salt Lake on the floor of the Great Rift Valley at the base of the Serengeti Plateau, just south of the Serengeti National Park and immediately southwest of the Ngorongoro Crater in the Crater Highlands of Tanzania. The lake is elongated, orientated southwest to northeast, and lies in the Eyasi-Wembere branch of the Great Rift Valley, The Hadzabe Bushmen live in this region, as do the Datoga and Mbulu tribes. A visit with the Bushmen is worthwhile and they will graciously show you where and how they live and hunt. They subsist entirely off the bush and by bow hunting. Everything they use is made from local materials, including their bows which are strung with giraffe tendon and their arrows which are coated in lethal poison. Dinner and overnight at the hotel/lodge

 DAY 9: Guided game drives in the Ngorongoro Crater 

Wake up early in the morning after breakfast we descend into this magnificent crater for safari with picnic lunch. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the most densely crowded African wildlife areas in the world and is home to an estimated 30,000 animals including some of Tanzania’s last remaining black rhino. The Ngorongoro crater is the world’s biggest whole volcanic caldera at 8300 sq. km and is arguably the most stunning arena. Later in the day drive to Serengeti for dinner and overnight at the hotel/lodge

DAY 10: Transfer game drive in the Serengeti plains 

After breakfast you will have a game drive in Serengeti National Park with picnic lunch, the heart of wild Africa – the Serengeti National Park – with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. We head to the central park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species and enjoy game drive in the Serengeti National Park. Dinner and overnight will be at Dinner and overnight at the hotel/lodge

DAY 11: Explore the Serengeti plains from the sky 

You will   have a game drive in this wonderful park, rising early with picnic lunch to make the most of our time. Our guides will choose the best spotting locations for the time of year; we can spend time at the Hippo pool watching these majestic animals laze about in the cool water happily living alongside the crocodiles, watch a big pride of lions, be in the middle of the migration, sometimes surrounded by wildebeest, sometimes by zebras, which travel with the wildebeest. Dinner and overnight will be at Dinner and overnight at the hotel/lodge.

DAY 12: Serengeti  National Park 

 Wake up early in the morning after breakfast then you will have a half day game drive in Serengeti national park. Enjoy the game with the picnic lunch while searching for animals then later in day drive to Lake Natron for dinner and overnight at the hotel/lodge

DAY 13:  Lake Natron & Hiking OL Donyo Lengai

 A soda lake at the base of the active Ol Donyo Lengai volcano, the area around Lake Natron is often described as having a desolate and almost lunar beauty. Lake Natron is found in the northern part of Tanzania. Nearest towns to Lake Natron are Arusha in Tanzania and Magadi in Kenya. It is the most important breeding site for Lesser Flamingos in the world. Dinner and overnight at the hotel/lodge

DAY 14:  Transfer to the Airport & Departure
