Detailed itinerary.

Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport – Transfer to Your Hotel in Arusha.

Upon arriving at Kilimanjaro International Airport, your personal VIP representative will be there to meet you. After a warm greeting, you will be driven in your own private luxury vehicle to your hotel in Arusha. The scenic drive will provide your first views of the countryside of Tanzania and, on a clear day, the top of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Upon arrival at the hotel, you will check into your elegantly decorated room, giving you an opportunity to relax after your flight. Later in the evening, your head guide will come to brief you on the trek, inspect your gear, and answer any questions you have. Afterward, you will enjoy a delicious dinner, freshly-prepared from local ingredients, before returning to your room to get a good night’s rest before your trek begins the following day.

Day 2: Arusha National Park Day Trip.

Before your trek begins, spend a leisurely and scenic day touring Arusha National Park. A wonderful opportunity to see wildlife and experience the natural beauty of Tanzania will allow your body to acclimatize to the local climate. In the park you can see giraffe, zebra, buffalo, flamingos and colobus monkeys.

You will enjoy a guided game drive and a guided walk with a park ranger and picnic lunch at Momella Lakes. After your outing you will return to your hotel in Arusha for dinner and final preparations for the mountain trek.

Day 3: Machame Gate to Machame Camp (3,000 m).

After breakfast, travel to the Machame Gate, where your trekking crew will check you in and check your gear. The trek begins as you hike through the dense rainforest filled with birds, butterflies, and monkeys. After climbing uphill for a while, the trail begins to gradually gain elevation and looks out on trees covered in moss and cool streams.

After trekking for about 6 to 7 hours, you will arrive at Machame Camp at 3,000 m. Your VIP camp will be ready, complete with exclusive tents with comfortable bedding, hot water to freshen up, and a gourmet dinner prepared by your chef.

Day 4: Machame Camp to Shira Camp 2 (3850m).

Today’s trek exits the forest into the expansive moorland where the terrain changes dramatically and you enjoy fantastic views of the Shira Plateau and… Mount Meru in the distance! You will walk for the next 5-6 hours with lots of rest breaks and a picnic lunch along the way.

When you arrive at Shira Camp 2, the camp will be on a high ridge with great views of the mountain. You will rest in your tent while your team prepares a filling meal and hot drinks. As night falls enjoy the evening star gazing and breathe some nice mountain air.

Day 5: Shira Camp 2 to Lava Tower (4600m) and then Barranco Camp (3960).

This will be a very important day for acclimatization. After breakfast, you will start a steady ascent again toward Lava Tower where you will have lunch and take some rest time at a higher altitude. The goal of this climb is to get your body use to the thin air, which prepares you for summit day.

In the afternoon, you will descend to Barranco Camp where you set up camp in a beautiful valley below Barranco Wall. The nice part about this descent is that it helps acclimatization and gives you beautiful views of glaciers and rugged cliffs. At camp you will enjoy a hot dinner and some relaxing time with your trek companions.

Day 6: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp and After Barafu Camp (4600m).

You will start the day with the exciting ascent up the Barranco Wall, which is one of the most exciting parts of the entire route. While it looks steep, it is a fun and non-technical climb, and it will provide amazing views at the top.

The trek continues onto Karanga Camp for lunch and a short rest before heading to Barafu Camp, the base camp for your summit attempt. You will have an early dinner and a full briefing that is needed for the nighttime ascent at Barafu. You will sleep early to give yourself the best opportunity to rest and conserve energy for your summit attempt.

Day 7: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak (5895m) and Down to Mweka Camp (3100m).

This day will be the most arduous day of your trek, but will also be the most rewarding. You will wake up at around midnight and begin your ascent while under the stars. Your guide will support and assist you during your climb as you move up to Stella Point and finally achieve Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa.

After sunrise, you will be standing at 5895 meters above sea level while taking in the spectacular glaciers and limitless African horizon. After you celebrate your accomplishment and take photos to continue your peak destination, you will begin the descent.
