Chimpanzee trekking safari experience.

Chimpanzee trekking safari begins at the park headquarters very early in the morning with a briefing on the rules and regulations. After the briefing, you’ll be given a family of habituated chimpanzees to trek with and a park guide who knows the forest tracks well. Chimpanzee trekking can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 4 hours, based on where the chimpanzees are. This is because chimpanzees like to move around in search of food, so they can be in different places at the same time. During chimpanzee trekking safari, you’ll be able to see other primate species, birds, mammals, and different plant and tree species. Once you find the chimpanzees, you’ll be able to spend an hour with them in their natural habitat, which will give you a chance to learn about their habits and watch them eat, nurse, hunt, fight, play, rest, groom their young, and do many other things.

Best time to go for a chimpanzee trekking safari in Uganda.

The best time to go on a chimpanzee trekking safari in Uganda is during the dry season, which is June, July, August, September, December, January, and February. This is because it doesn’t rain as much in the chimpanzee trekking destinations during these months, so the trails and roads to where the chimpanzees are will be passable.

Chimpanzee trekking safari in Uganda can also be done during the wet season, from March to May and November. This is because there is plenty of food for the chimpanzees during the wet season, so they won’t be able to move too far into the forest to look for food, making chimpanzee trekking easier.
