The heaves of Kilimanjaro may be barren and rocky, whereas the Rwenzori observe moist conditions consistently and contain a series of distinct altitudinal flora zones moving from rainforest to bamboo, then to bogs composed of strange and gigantic plant species.
As trekkers move upward, they experience views that would happen in a fantasy novel above the cloud line. The slopes are covered with forests filled with giant heather or heathers, Heather, groundsel plants, and massive lobelias, some of which exceed 3 m, or 10 ft, tall.
