Jinja, that is as well-known as an ‘’adventure of East Africa’’ is a stunning attraction on any African safari; which lies in eastern Uganda, is an enjoyable safari destination to go on adventures. This district is surrounded by Iganga and Kamuli in the north, Kayunga in the west, Mukono in the south west, Mayuge in the east. Food crops such beans, cassava, maize, millet, sweet potatoes, soya beans, cowpeas, groundnuts, yams, and sorghum are grown in Jinja, along with cash crops like cotton, coffee, and sugarcane. Another commercial activity that takes place in Jinja on Lake Victoria is fishing. Numerous fish species are captured, such as lung fish, silverfish, catfish, Nile perch, and tilapia. Jinja has its own fishing areas, such as the Gomba fishing industries limited and the Masese fishing grounds.

The source of the Nile. Jinja is the source of the Nile River, the longest river in Africa. This river comprises two distinct sections that is the White Nile and the Blue Nile. Historical and cultural sites in Jinja include the Bujagali ancestral site, the Busoga king’s palace in Nakabango, Mpumude hill which is an assembly point for Busoga chiefs and is renowned for being the place where the Omukama of Bunyoro called Omukama Kabalega died.

About 80 kilometres from Jinja town is Kyabirwa village, which offers a variety of adventure and tourism safari activities, including quad biking.

Islands along Lake Victoria in Jinja include Samuka Island, Ndaiga Island among others. By boat over the Nile, one can reach Samuka Island, which is situated off the coast of Lake Victoria.

When visiting Jinja, visitors can engage in a wide range of safari activities, such as spot fishing, boat cruises, white water rafting, horseback riding, quad biking, bungee jumping, and visiting the local markets.
