Detailed Itinerary

Day 1:Arrival at Entebbe International Airport

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will go through the emigration process, which always takes between thirty minutes to two hours, depending on your arrival time. Exiting through arrivals, you will meet your Nyumbu Beyond Journeys  safari  for a short meet and greet, then transfer to your guest house in Entebbe for an overnight stay on a bed and breakfast arrangement.

Day 2:Track Southern White Rhinos on Foot

You’ll be picked up from your guest house and transferred to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where you will be able to track rhinos on foot with the help of armed rangers who are there to guide and protect you throughout the experience.
After one hour of viewing and walking with white rhinos, you will head for a hot lunch before driving to the park gate for clearance. Then, you’ll proceed through Budongo forest to the top of the falls as your first activity in the park. After the top of the fall’s photographic moments, you will drive to your lodge, which is in the middle of the park, as you enjoy wildlife.

Day 3:Game drives & Nile Delta Boat cruise

Have breakfast and go for an early morning game drive to catch up with the early risers. You will see a number of wildlife and later return to your lodge. After a lunch break and a rest and later go for a boat cruise to the bottom of Murchison falls.

Day 4:Scenic Road Trip and Evening Bigodi Community Walk

After breakfast, you will have a short game drive as you head out of the park. You’ll drive further to the southern parts of Uganda with a hot lunch en route to the Kibale forest. After check-in, you’ll take a walk in the famous Bigodi wetlands, a community project managed by the community aimed at changing and improving the lives of the host communities. Watch out for olive baboons, red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, bird species, and cultural encounters with the local communities. Later, you’ll have dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5:Morning Chimpanzee Tracking and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, you will drive to Kanyanchu to join others for a briefing before you head to the forest with rangers in search of chimps following their calls and tracks. Once chimps have been located, you will spend one hour with them as you learn more about them.
After your hot lunch at the lodge, you will drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, check-in and prepare for a game drive to close the day. (On request we can arrange a night game driver for better chances of sighting cats).

Day 6: Morning Game drives and Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

Head out for an early morning game drive to catch up with the early risers. Expect to see animals like lions, antelopes, elephants, buffaloes as well as a number of birds. This game drive takes 3 to 4 hours depending on your preference. Return to your lodge for a lunch break and later go for a boat cruise along the Kazinga channel. The channel has highest concentration of Hippos in East Africa, crocodiles and a number of birds. You will later have a brief game drive or directly head to your lodge for a rest.

Day 7: Ishasha Game Drive and Head to Bwindi Impenetrable national park.

After breakfast, transfer to the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park famous for tree climbing lions. You will have games drive in search for tree climbing lions and other wildlife species like Topis, water-bucks plus birds. If you are lucky you will see the tree climbing lions, have lunch and proceed to Bwindi impenetrable national park.

Day 8: Gorilla tracking and Community Visit

Transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing about gorilla tracking then proceed to the forest for tracking. You will see other wildlife species in the forest especially birds, plants and some other primates like monkeys. Stay in the presence of the gorillas for strictly one hour and later return and head to your lodge. In the evening go for a community visit where you will discover more about the local people’s culture.

Day 9: Birding and head to Lake Mburo National Park

You will go for a birding excursion in the morning in Bwindi and later return for a transfer to Lake Mburo national park. You will arrive in time for lunch and later go for a game drive.

Day 10: Nature walk & Departure (4 hours drive)

On this is the last day you will go for a nature walk to the salt lick getting closer to wildlife and later be for transferred back to your Hotel or Entebbe airport for departure depending on schedule.
