Detailed itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival at Entebbe, Karibu Uganda!
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be greeted by our Nyumbu Beyond Journeys safari guide who will later transfer you to the hotel. In the evening, you’ll have the opportunity to meet with your lead photographer for an introduction and briefing on the exciting adventure ahead.
Day 2: Transfer to Primate Capital of the World & Evening Bigodi Community Walk
After breakfast, you will embark on a scenic drives through the rural villages of Uganda to kibale National Park. You’ll drive further to the south western parts of Uganda with a hot lunch en route to the Kibale forest. After check-in, you’ll take a walk in the famous Bigodi wetlands, a community project managed by the community aimed at changing and improving the lives of the host communities. Watch out for olive baboons, red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, bird species, and cultural encounters with the local communities. Later, you’ll have dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking & transfer to Queen Elizabeth
Begin your day with a thrilling chimpanzee trek in Kibale Forest. After arriving at the starting point, you be taken into a general briefing before your split into small group with your co- trekkers and be allocated an experienced safari start your chimp once the chimpanzees are spotted your allowed 1 hour with and later return to the starting point for your certificate.
Continue your journey to Queen Elizabeth National. Embark on your first evening game drive in the park, keeping an eye out for lions, elephants, and other wildlife.
Day 4: Queen Elizabeth National Park
Start the day with a morning game drive, capturing the wildlife in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Afterward, enjoy a scenic boat ride along the Kazinga Channel, offering photo opportunities of hippos, buffalo, and abundant birdlife.
Day 5: Ishasha Tree Climbing Lions
Early morning breakfast before heading to the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. In the afternoon and evening, set out on game drives to photograph the iconic tree-climbing lions and the park’s diverse wildlife.

Day 6: Transfer game drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Depart early for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest home to the endangered Mountain Gorillas with a second game drive in the Ishasha sector in search of the tree-climbing lions. On arrival, you can choose to take an optional community walk.
Day 7: Mountain Gorilla Trekking
Embark on a once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trek through the dense jungles of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Guided by expert trackers, you’ll venture deep into the heart of the forest to encounter the majestic mountain gorillas. Where you will spend time photographing and learning more about these incredible animals. Afterwards you can take an optional visit to the Batwa communities. In the evening, unwind by reviewing and editing your stunning shots with the guidance of a professional photographer. Get ready for your second gorilla trek the following day, with fresh perspectives and techniques to refine your wildlife photography.
Day 8: Second Mountain Gorilla Trekking
After breakfast, you will have a short drive to the UWA Briefing Center, where you will be taken through the dos and don’ts while tracking gorillas. After you have been allocated a gorilla family in a group of 8 Pax, you will be led by ranger guides out of the forest to search for the gorillas. When gorillas have been located, you will have one full hour of viewing them as they go on with their daily lives at a distance of 7-10 meters. Begin your day with a second gorilla trek, offering a fresh opportunity to photograph new angles and moments with the Gorillas
Later in the afternoon your second gorilla trek, transfer to lake Bunyonyi for a relaxed evening as we scroll your images.
Day 9: Transfer from lake Bunyonyi to Entebbe International Airport
Embark on an early drive back to Entebbe. Arrive in time for your evening flight.
